Athlete of the Week: Lutheran's Bryce Jefferson Honored for Big Game

Voters were impressed by Jefferson's four touchdown game for the Cougars.

In a losing effort, Bryce Jefferson couldn't be stopped.

The Lutheran High School sophomore scored not one, not two, not even three—four touchdowns in Week 6. It was an impressive week, for Jefferson, enough so to help him win the Patch St. Charles County Athlete of the Week award. Out of the 100 votes cast, Jefferson beat out Holt's Mark Cushing by just six votes to earn the crown.

Here's how the voting broke down:

Which St. Charles County football player had the best Week 6?

Although Lutheran fell short against Trinity, sophomore Jefferson had a big game for the Cougars. In the 45-40 loss against Trinity, Jefferson accumulated four touchdowns—one on the ground, two receiving and one on a kickoff return. Jefferson picked up 68 yards on just four carries, 78 yards on five catches and had an 83-yard kickoff return. To top it all off, he had 7 tackles on defense.
