UPDATE: Former Lake Saint Louis Man Faces Molestation Charges
Corey Brown has hearing on ten felony charges on Thursday
UPDATE: At the Jan. 6 hearing, Corey Brown's attorney, Dennis Chassaniol, asked for a continuance. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for February 24.
A St. Charles man accused of molesting two young girls will have a hearing Thursday in St. Charles County Circuit Court.
Corey Lane Brown, 45, of the 1300 block of Ithaca Circle in St. Charles, faces two statutory rape charges, six sodomy charges and two child molestation charges. The girls he is accused of molesting are ages 8 and 9. Brown is a former Lake Saint Louis resident.
According to a St. Louis Post Dispatch article, Brown attempted to commit suicide in early December.
Court documents state that while in the hospital Dec. 9, Brown told a social worker that he had been "sexually inappropriate" with two young girls. When a Lake Saint Louis detective served him with an order of protection, Brown told the officer he wanted to talk about the incidents.
The detective's report states that Brown told him the incidents with an older girl date back to 2007 and that he began molesting the younger girl in July. The detective estimated Brown molested the older girl 234 times and the younger girl 34 times.
Later in court, Brown pleaded not guilty to the charges. He is being held in St. Charles County jail.
Judge Philip Ohlms denied a motion to reduce the $500,000 cash only bond.
