Groundbreaking for New Boone Bridge Set for Thursday

The new bridge is set to open in 2014.

 

The Missouri Department of Transportation will break ground Thursday on a two-year, $110.9 million project to replace the 80-year-old westbound Boone Bridge over the Missouri River.

The ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday and will include MoDOT, contractor Walsh-Alberici Joint Venture, officials from the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission, elected officials and local business leaders.

The event will be held on the St. Louis side of the river, on the North Outer Road where it dead ends at the Monarch Levee Trail in Chesterfield Valley next to the existing I-64 bridges.
