Lake Saint Louis' newest boating club, the Good Samaritan Pleasure Boating Club, manned a booth at the recent On the Water Boat Show at Windjammer Pointe. On a nearby picnic table was a stack of life jackets of various types, sizes and colors and a sign that read

The club is registering new members at three levels of membership: boating members, social members and supporters.

The club's Rib White and Blue Festival, a rib cook-off, will be from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m., Saturday, July 2 at the Lake Saint Louis Community Association clubhouse. The ticket price of $30 for adults includes dinner, an open beer and wine bar, music, a silent auction and swimming for the kids (kids' price is $15). Proceeds from this event will be used to send Marine Corporal Todd Nicely to New York for the ten-year memorial ceremony of 9-11.

KSDK's Mike Bush interviewed Cpl. Nicely in September of 2010. Nicely lost his hands and legs while serving in Afghanistan.
