Patch Democrats Polled: Barack Obama Would Not Win Missouri

The latest 'Blue Arch' survey of activist Democrats asked respondents about the presidential race, the Akin-McCaskill U.S. Senate contest and what Democrats should do to counter a possible post-convention bounce for Mitt Romney.

If the election were held today, President Barack Obama would not carry the Show-Me State.

That's the biggest finding in the latest Patch 'Blue Arch' survey of current and former Democratic party officials and activists, taken between August 27-30. Just over 50 people were surveyed and 31 responded using an automated survey tool.

When asked, to describe their state of agreement with the question: If the election were held today, Barack Obama would carry the state of Missouri, 41.9 percent said they somewhat disagreed, while 22.6 completely disagreed.

While some observers wondered if the fallout from GOP U.S. Senate candidate Todd Akin's remarks about legitimate rape might help put Missouri back in play nationally, most polls show Mitt Romney does maintain a lead over President Obama here.

Other Findings:

  • When asked if they believed Rep. Akin would remain as Senator Claire McCaskill's Republican opponent without a GOP-affiliated independent candidacy, 71 percent said they agreed in some way.
  • 77.4 percent of those polled said if the Senate election were held today, they completely agreed McCaskill would defeat Akin. The rest of those surveyed (22.6 percent) said they Somewhat agreed.

Patch asked Democrats what they'd advise the Obama campaign to do to counter a possible post-convention bounce for the Romney/Ryan ticket. Here were some of their suggestions:

Give specific facts and figures

Have a complete recovery plan

Keep reaching out to voters that are any flavor besides rich white folks

Talk about Ryan budget, rape tax cuts for wealthy , out of touch Romney

Let Obama do what he does best which is relate to his constituency. The addition of Bill Clinton will help bolster the Democratic economic credentials. Also, a clear attempt at firming up the Hispanic vote would make a Romney victory much less likely.

About The Red Arch/Blue Arch Surveys

Patch political surveys are not a scientific random sample of any larger population, but rather an effort to listen to a swath of influential local Republican and Democratic activists, party leaders and elected officials in Missouri. All of these individuals have agreed to participate in the surveys, although not all responded to this week's questions.

Patch will be conducting Red Arch and Blue Arch surveys throughout 2012 in hopes of determining the true sentiment of conservatives, liberals and moderates on the ground in Missouri.

If you are an activist, party leader or elected official and would like to take part in a bi-weekly survey that lasts just a few minutes, please email Gregg.Palermo@patch.com.

So...50 were surveyed and 31 answered, or perhaps all 50 answered but only 31 electronically -- teeny tiny survey. Don't argue these specific results but this particular way of operating a poll seems pretty useless, esp to those educated in stats and sampling. Appreciate the disclosure of the numbers, though.

A logical approach:
Obama got 70mil votes in 2008
McCain 60mi apprx

Fair to assume that every state will be down 10% turnout.
That gives Obama about 64mil votes.

If true, than Missouri would be a Romney victory as the Evangelicals WILL be massive For AKIN. Even though he may lose, Most Evangelicals who vote for President will vote Romney. (Religion aside)
Any Republican Romney voter is not necessarily a McCaskill vote as many would simply pass on Senator.
I would not expect any AKIN protest vote to go to OBAMA.
So the study seems appropriate.

90% of Missourians already have excellent Health care.
Obamacare WILL destroy that and force many into Public Health care.
Missourians should know that, as McCaskill will certainly RAM it down our throats.
Our Poor have many opportunities for care, if they ASK.
A true shame to change a system for a FEW while the Mass public suffers lesser quality.
Example: If the poor could not afford "automobile", should we ALL chip in to buy them a mercedes? Should we pay for their auto Insurance?
(IT's COMING!)
WAKE UP --Missourians--Aim for a Stop to this Everything Free Government mentality. Soon , you will be driving a lesser car than the so-called "needy"
Remember: "FREE" CELL phones with monthly services are now given to the needy. As I still scrape to pay mine.
THAT IS WHAT OBAMACARE WILL DO>

PaulRevere, you are right. Today "poor" is more or less an abbreviation for 'the entitled'. Today, poor people have healthcare, cars, mobile phones, select nearly whatever food they want off the grocery shelves, designer clothes, etc. I work to EARN what I have, and I expect my fellow man and women to do the same. I don't want people to be poor, but I don't the system to pay them not to work.

I think there's a big difference between "paying the poor not to work" and Paul Revere's ideas that 90 percent of Missourians have wonderful health care and McCaskill will force bad health care down our throat. What? Now do I think Obama has been a terrific president? No, I don't. But because he introduced so-called Obama Care or Romey Care, insurance companies have started offering health insurance to those who have pre-existing conditions, which is a huge deal to those of us over, oh, say, 45 and who usually have some pre-existing condition. Kids are now routinely allowed to stay on their parents' policies until they are 26. There's a lot to dislike about our health care system, and presidents and Congress have talked about "fixing" it for well over 20 years, and no one's had the guts to do it. Is it the best plan? I don't know and neither do you. But at least the man tried.

That's the Problem, the people turn their backs to the Poor. Try to Buy insurance if you have High Blood Pressure or a few pounds over weight on a fixed income. Try to buy it from the Missouri Health Plan. My wife tried, she is 61 years old with the above issues and for her alone it ranges from $765>$1462. The Obama Plan which she has now, the cost range is $548>$601.and the Plan is Better. Please just try to Buy Insurance if you are near this age with any issues. By the way we are both retired, and Thank GOD for the Obama Plan and Obama.

Hey Bradley Dee-the problem is Obamasocialist didn't "fix" healthcare for you or your wife while NOT effecting the rest of us who's healthcare wasn't "Broke". This year alone because I am now considered to have a Cadillac Health plan which is a JOKE of a statement, I am now paying MORE, yes MORE than I have ever in my 27 years of working at a big corporation. More in copays, more in out of pocket, more in deductibles, more in my paycheck. Funny thing is I liked my insurance all these years and I didn't have one complaint and I appreciated it being offered and provided by my company as part of the compensation package. I worked hard for my job, I have 2 degrees, I work hard every day and appreciated that "perk", now thanks to Obama "fixing" your healthcare issues, mine suck. thanks. No I won't be voting for him or that joke of a McCaskill in November.

I say "FIX WHAT IS BROKE"....for those that need it, fix it, BUT LEAVE MY STUFF ALONE, its not broke! HOW Much of my stuff, health care, money, taxes, etc do YOU WANT ME TO GIVE to Obama so he can redistribute to others?? 50%? 60%?, 70%? what will you be happy with? ALL my money? What in the hell ever happened to work hard, pull yourself up, etc? what happened to that? Now it's piss and moan until you get what the other guy has, dont worry about working for it, we'll legally steal it for you and give it to you. DO you really expect the gas working at the gas station that has NO education should have exactly what I have after going to school for 10 years and working hard for it??? do you reallY? LINDA & Bradley:
How is it that you don't understand , obama is FORCING all Americans to buy medical insurance. (He is broke) We are paying for your sad medical problems. That imcludes many businesses that cannot afford it. The world is full of sad stories of illnesess.
over 50mil people have high blood pressure & cholestoral, (my wife does).
Our medical insurance with ANTHEM (formerly blue-cross) is $450 month.
Stop thinking only about yourself, as we other people are paying for your pre-existing conditions.
Hopefully, you are outnumbered by the 250 million people who have been paying for their own care.
We have 300mil Americans. 250mil Americans already have medical insurance.
People like you are only concerned about helping you , but both of you could care less about forcing others to pay your medical bills. That is exactly what obama does.
THIS IS A TAX ON EVERY LIVING PERSON IN AMERICA.
Let me tell you what I don't like.
Paying the medical bills of-16 yr olds having babies-day care centers in High school-Drug addicts-Alcohol abuse-Gang member medical bills-sexual freedom
lifestyles- mountain climbers- your kids accidents in dangerous sports-your auto accidents-your eating habits-
Medical is a personal lifestyle expense. Cancer is catostrophic and anyone used to be able to buy that very very cheap early in life.
We can basic-insure the needy for about $300 monthly.
obamacare is WRONG for America and will start costing big-time starting 2014.

Lifted the below statement from the SSM healthcare website, . Hardly a scathing rebuke of ACA -Obamacare from the large Catholic health care provider based in St. Louis. A much different tune than we hear from the far right:

While it will take some time to understand the full implications of the Court’s decision, we are very encouraged that health insurance coverage has been expanded to 32 million Americans. SSM Health Care has long believed that all Americans have a right to basic health-care coverage necessary to live a healthy and productive life.

While it needs further refinement, the Affordable Care Act attempts to shift our health system away from a focus on disease and illness to a system that focuses on keeping people healthy, better managing chronic disease and coordinating care. We will continue to work to improve the ACA along with lawmakers and others who are dedicated to the goal of improving the health of all Americans.

Excuse me, but where was it written that we need government to keep us healthy? I just posted what SSM has on their website -which seems to run contra to the propaganda put forth by the right wing that Catholic-run insitutions are in complete opposition to the ACA.

It seems a bit naive to think people going to costly emergency rooms and not paying their bills, (which is what the uninsured ultimately do now) does not cause a burden that is shared by the rest of us.

And this bluther about it all being a tax. Well, my health insurance already is a tax. You see, I am healthy and have rarely made a claim (thank you Lord) -so my money is going pay for someone else's care --already. And I am fine with that.

I'd prefer that money be used as efficiently as possible - and that does not occur when the uninsured go to ERs for care.

Jeesh - Where were you guys during the Bush years in opposing the costly Iraq War? Medicare D Prescription drug bill -it costs a load as well.

RDbet:
See my answer right below for your SSM post. SSM is a "Medical PROVIDER".
over 90% of all Catholic institutions (NON_MEDICAL_PROVIDERS) are against ACA. Read the law and you will note that Medical Providers who normally serviced the needy Will actually get more reimbursements From ACA. So it follows SSM likes that. More Money to them.
BUT, more money to them is not coming from the poor. WE ALL ARE GOING TO PAY BILLIONS IN NEW TAXES TO PAY FOR THE 40Million PEOPLE WHO SAY THEY CANNOT AFFORD MEDICAL CARE. We don't need ACA to support the poor.
Now you claim Medical Insurance is a "TAX". That's a choice.
Can you cancel it? Your Free to do that.
Also cancel your auto insurance, your Home insurance , your Life insurance, your cellphone insurance, your "free" public school insurance (called Real Estate Taxes),
At least you have a choice to buy whatever YOU want.
Stop trying to change the facts of what ACA is.
It is NOT healthcare---It is a TAX to buy Insurance.
In your own words---"I am healthy and I rarely use it". You "Are fine with paying for others using ER on your money".
WELL your insurance already pays that, so why do we need to pay a new TAX to pay for 40 mill poor people AGAIN?
Don't you see that Obamacare is a fraud? It is an attempt to get more money to siphon off to more Govt programs We don't need.
Stop trying to find some organization who might confirm what you think ACA is.
You have all the facts in front of you.

SSM provides CARE.
ACA does not. Why can't you get that in your Brain.!
It's Insurance! It's a TAX on all people and businesses. Learn the law , download it PLEASE!
SSM made no comment of the cost of insurance . The cost of ACA is the last thing on their minds. It's Catholic institution reaching out to the "Poor". Who always had "free" access. I know SSM very well Trust me.
Forcing others to pay for YOUR Insurance is WRONG.
Note SSM only refers to "BASIC Health-Care" NOT FULL HEALTH CARE.
Obamacare does not even come close to Providing medical Care.
It is only a Forced TAX on society .
A TAX to spend on things not related to health care in the future.
Obamacare starts with several "LURES" to hide the hook of each of you who are too lazy to read the summary.

Nor should everyone have a good paying job. That isn't how a free market system works. That is how a socialist system works where they attempt to level everything for everyone so that gets paid similarly. In a free market system things are tiered appropriately by a number of factors. Unfortunately there is no free lunch, everyone can't be well off because we live in a world of scarcity and limited resources. If we made everyone wealthy and restarted the system soon the prices would rise and the value of the monetary system would naturally devaluate due to inflation and once again you'd have poor as some would choose more wisely than others.

There are plenty of places that will give you free stuff, like, Cuba, well,,,,,, no, they are will take your freedom. So guess it isnt free! Our country achieved greatness by everyone working hard to get ahead, lately all I hear is give me give me. Open your eyes and really look at life. The people getting for free will always want someone in office that will give it to them! The people working and providing cant keep giving up what they worked hard for. I help those that have fallen, I wont give to those that chose to live a life of taking from others! I give the panhandler a cut out section of the paper that list's jobs, they throw it on the ground! I ask them to clean up the trash at the off ramp and I will pay them for it the next day. They dont do it, yet everyday they hold up a sign, essentially saying give to me what you worked hard for!

The Obama-hate is irrational, which is demonstrated repeatedly on these forums.
There is something more to the venom and vigor from the right, than newfound concern since GWB left office over spending for govt safety net programs and taxation.

Federal taxes overall are at historically low levels with shifting of the tax burden to lower incomes.

Oddly, many people such as myself have misgivings over Obama; but the misgivings are for his not standing up to the far right, and irresponsibly caving in on the right wing in protecting tax cuts for the uber-wealthy. Overall, Obama has been a bland centrist.

Even I did not have any such concise chart of what's Coming.
Unfortunately, liberals do not understand TAXES. They don't pay any.

Now , I would think all stock gains will be taken before Dec 31st this year. (If Obama Wins)
Obama win and his anti-capitalistic ideas would possibly decimate ALL 401k's in 2013. There would be very little Corporate value growth for stocks to rise.
That means very little additioonal taxes from Capital Gain rate increases.
Just my opinion.
Obama loses out on major taxes from stock sales.
Watch for the WEALTH TAX.

Worse, is the fact that these will take place while (potentially) someone else is in office (just like Carter & Clinton did), so that they take the blame when those policies fail. Their idea is to pass as much of this crap as you can, then make the next guy spend his entire time in office fighting to remove all of this garbage so as not to get blamed for it's impending failure (De-regulation, Fair Housing Regulatory). It's a way of ensuring you get invited back by the uneducated masses. This way you can have a success-rate under that of a TV weatherman, and still make it look like someone else's fault.

My , you sound offended. WHY? Anyway, i'll answer you.

My problem is with all the single young woman having babies with NO money to support them. My problem is understanding all those woman who have no "Respect" for their bodies as they use the justification of "it's my body" , I can do whatever I want. (while expecting others to pay for it.)
My problem is with those young woman who like to open their "playground" bodies while expecting society to support their pills. Using medical reasons to justify their
Pill cost.
So Jackie, if you were married and now a Single Mom, than you are not a problem to me.
But, if you want society (Government) to be your new Husband , then I do have a problem with you.
Now, if we had a leader President that would preach these principles to ALL MEN AND WOMAN, our society would reduce medical bills 50% for all of us.
I happen to believe that society's MORALS, DRUGAbuse (including birthcontrol pills, ALCOHOL abuse, non-attention to their children are MAJOR contributors to ALL of America's Medical problems.
I just don't have enough text room to elaborate.
Hope you are not offended, if you come outside my thoughts.

How can anyone believe Obama can identify with the middle class? He's worth around 11 million dollars. That's over $25,000 per month interest income he receives, even in today's economy. He's never done a day of hard work in his life. When he leaves office, he's going to make millions more with book deals and speaking engagements. You guys are fools to sit at the feet of this dirt bag.

As someone in the business world for close to 25 years, I am unimpressed by Romney's business background as a hedge fund manager - that is same group of reckless, " geniuses" that mitigated the economic meltdown. Financial gimmickry.

Romneycare is the main accomplishment of his that is relevant to presidential campaign. So ..there you go.

When are you going to start trying to make things better for everyone, instead of trying to convince each of these groups you are on their side, when by definition, you can't be? It's amazing how you all work.

That "financial gimmickry" started with The Fair Housing Regulatory Act, and ended with Fanny & Freddie buying worthless loans, only to pay Franklin Raines nearly a billion dollars of tax-payer dollars for his part in orchestrating it.
(The damage Raines has caused the economy throughout his many years, is only outweighed by the amount of tax-dollars he took to do that damage, yet you likely have no idea who he is. So, look him up & pretend you do.)

Sarah and RDBet are two morons made for each other. The fact of the matter is that the president is part of the 1%. He's wealthy. He doesn't have to get a loan if he wants a new car, because he pays cash for it. He doesn't have to get a mortgage because he can pay cash for a house. He does't have any worries a normal, middle class family has because he's wealthy. And as I pointed out, he will grow even more wealthy with his book deals and speaking engagements. And you know what? There's not a damn thing wrong with it. As far as I know Obama hasn't broken any laws getting to where he is in life. So he's played by the rules and made something of himself. My advice for Sarah and RDBet is to get off your butts, get a job. If you need to, get two or three jobs because the economy is only going to get worse.

Why is it Delusional? Feel free to support your statement, or admit you can't.
How fore right is that? Too fore to be accurate? Explain why please.
See, "rose-colored glass's" are what's worn by those who can't see what this administration is doing by growing government to the size of being able to overrule those who have religious beliefs (all in the name of deficating taxes upon them), especially when it's happening everywhere around them, every day, and thinking that big government will work here, when it's never worked, ever, anywhere in the world. Rose-colored glass's are exactly what's needed to ignore that paying for everyone's abuse of a broken medical system, at a time when the government already spends $41,210 per second they don't have, has a $16 Trillion deficit already this year, not wondering what happens when they can no longer borrow enough to pay for your meds (and we're almost there), AND pretending that it's not attached to the biggest loss of freedom & highest tax-increase in the history of this country.
That's where "rose-colored glass's" are worn. Try taking off yours.

I'm just curious whether any of the "entitlement" bashers posting here have parents on Social Security and/or Medicaid. Or if they, themselves are planning to collect Social Security when they retire. Or if they would apply for SS Disability if they had to quit working (or were forced to) due to a debilitating disease (eg. MS, ALS, Parkinsons, etc) long before retirement age. Would they apply for Medicaid to help with the considerable costs of their care and medications which they could no longer afford due to loss of income?

Worse still, what if one of their children was stricken with such a disease? Would they be thankful that child will never have to worry about being denied health insurance coverage due to their pre-existing health issue? Would they still be as critical of ACA then?

Finally, I wonder if these posters who are so "anti-Obama, anti-government, anti-entitlement" (and anti-anything that might help someone other than themselves and might cost them a few measly dollars more in taxes) understands the adage, "There but for the grace of God, go I."

M DesHotel: Because you said "the Grace of GOD"
I have due respect for your questions.
Entitlements of Social Sec and Medicare are the only programs Partially supported as we work. Teachers in Missouri, non-workers, and the early disabled DO NOT PUT one cent into our soc security system.
Let's talk medicare first: Simply
When the govt promised medicare , their monthly charge was $19 (about $240yr)
Now they collect over $1,200 from you for medicare. It's not free
(That is what I call "Lures") After 40 years in business, I know that lures is how all Democrats get you caught. That is obamacare.
.
Superstars making $1million and the Rich pay over $100,000 into medicare every year. That is how the system semi-survives.

That is how you get your medicare.
All of your other entitlements come from the same people.
Now here is my question!
If you take more money from those Rich supporting your medicare and give it to Obama to pay for his Programs--Not the aged--do you suppose medicare would survive? Now Obama will propose Payroll tax cuts.
That drop in those workers paying soc security and your medicare will eventually kill the whole system. That is What the Democrats want.
They are set to destroy the whole system and push this country into one massive LESSER and abused health care system supported by Workers and Business.
You should really learn the current set-up yourself. Listen to all the media and you will be enlightened.

C'mon Paul, Sarah's right.
"not everyone in America is out for a free lunch, because their Political view differ from yours"
She is right, but she is currently disagreeing & arguing with those remaining Americans who don't.
She's right, except in the case where those folks have political views that say that anyone who disagrees with them, must hate this group or that group because they don't want to pay for their abuse of a broken healthcare system, or those whose political views actually do believe in those freebies & believe they should trump freedom of religion, or those whose political beliefs are to continue to put more people ON government aide, and are (as we speak) in a direct daily battle against those who want to help people get OFF government aide, but otherwise she's right.

She's right "not everyone in America is out for a free lunch", just Liberals.

You can also see from her statement the fate SHE chooses for those whose "Political views differ from" hers. I say, if you want to live in a country that pays for your healthcare, there are plenty of options (see you when you get back).

I love these people who scold you for something, then do the exact same thing only a sentence later. Maybe that's why it's so hard to get through to them, how can they see what's going on, when they don't even realize that they are doing the very thing they always accuse people of?

I believe in an economy that entitles all to flourish and not just a select few. In giving more tax cuts for the poor and not just focusing on those that are financially affluent. Democrats stand for equal rights, such as equal pay for women. I am Pro-choice on the Abortion issue and support stem-cell research. Sarah,
I appreciate your passion, regardless of how mis-guided.
We all care, it's great that you care, but that's an emotion, let's use our heads a little more so there aren't so many heartaches. Trying to corner the market on caring, while you're crippling everyone isn't how caring works. You're crippling people by turning them into dependents on a system that can't care for them. Here's an example of what you support, whether you realize it or not....
Food Stamp Spending:
June had a record number of participants in the Food Stamp program to the tune of 46.7 million participants in June.
That number has more than doubled in the last 4 years. And your party will tell you that taxing the rich will fix it, when that's exactly how you got here. Those people now on food stamps now, used to have careers, now they are lucky to have a job. (Job & Career aren't the same thing)
$75.7 Billion dollars a year is now the expenditure.
You have cared these people out of jobs, you have cared their former employers overseas, you have cared these people out of being able to provide for themselves while you feel good about taking care of them. But, they, the people you claim to be helping, are now dependents & FORMER contributors into a system with fewer & fewer contributors & more & more dependents.

You agree with taking the pond, yet want to pat yourself on the back for giving these people a fish.
See, stupid people care too. As for me, I don't want them in charge anymore.

You just said you stood for equal-rights, then you picked a segregated group to help. Let's help everybody. Those of us who aren't bigots & are able to see people without the little categories have already started trying to help everybody. But all of those people who just want to segregate us, (you) are fighting it. You say "believe in an economy that entitles all to flourish and not just a select few" but you want to put people on food stamps instead of back to work. People can't buy things without jobs. Those that give jobs can't hire if people can't buy, especially when they also have to deal with the highest corporate tax-rate in the world (as of April), 10 new regulations a day along with the expenses that come with those regulations AND those they already had. The top 10% of incomes carry over 70% of the tax burden in this country, that's pulling your weight even on a Democrat's scale.
Look, the first 4 things Hitler did, were to take over the healthcare system, disarm the citizens, take-over banking & loans, as well as involve the government int the auto industry. We're at 3 out of 4 with Obama (& you support the 4th even though guns prevent 2.7 - 3.1 million crimes per year & are used to commit 130,000 - 150,000 crimes per year. Therefore you SUPPORT increasing the crime rate immensely. Not at all a smart (or caring) considering that ratio runs anywhere from 18:1 to 24:1.
See, it's great to care, but Lenny cared about his mouse too. We know how that turned out.

PS - The "do-gooders" in the 1930's Germany were also convinced the that the rich owed more of their wealth to their nation, that's when things got ugly. We aren't there yet, but how many times have you, yourself, said that the rich need to cover more of the tax-burden? Remember that too, "tax-burden", not hiring the poor, not providing resources & teaching the hungry how to farm, providing them with a cure for something, or "building ponds" literally or figuratively. it means paying the government. You think they should pay the government to provide food stamps instead.
Same with healthcare. You want everyone to have it, so you decided that choosing the most expensive way possible to provide it is the way to go. We could all provide our own healthcare a WHOLE LOT cheaper than sending our money through a wasteful middleman first. You also seem to think that an entity $16 trillion in debt (just this year), spending $41,210 per second they don't have, can possibly somehow magically pull that off? You also seem to enjoy the idea of leaving your grandkids without healthcare or a job to pay their ENORMOUS debt that this administration is creating for them. Somebody is going to have to pay it after you've hauled-away the rich & took all of their money. That's what you are pulling for.
You can want real bad to go to the store, but driving down the wrong road in the wrong direction won't likely get you there, but you're OK with betting all of our futures on it working this time.

I AM better off than I was during the Bush years. The world is safer sans bin Laden. There is no perfect system, ever on either side, But, if left unchecked the healthcare costs alone will bankrupt this country in 15-20 years. Forget Social Security, its healthcare dummy. IF you don't have large segments of the population covered then those costs come out of what? Higher costs, because the hospitals and the providers have to spread their costs to the one who do pay for the ones who don't. that is what the Affordable Healthcare Act attempts to minimize. As for taxes...everyone in the US is paying lower taxes than they did during the first years of Bush's terms. MEanwhile, our government has had greater out flows of money for TWO wars, huge BANK BAILOUTS, a stimulus package that prevented the whole boat from completely capsizing because of the housing bubble...caused by an UNREGULATED Wall Street.

I'm not going to to touch personal choice issues like women's health or sexual orientation, because in my pragmatic opinion, it has no place in politics. I would just recommend that instead of wearing the tea bags on your hats, you actually take five minutes and steep them, relax and open your minds, souls and hearts, just a little. Our deficit and debt shift from the heady Clinton years to now is a direct result of the policies the GOP is trying to RE-INSTATE. I for one didn't care for that road at all. I didn't feel safer, I certainly lost money in the market and and in anyplace I had investments. And again as we have historically, the Democratic President spends his first term cleaning up the fraternity party mess and replants the garden.I for one see the vision of this direction and see the gloom of the alternative. Enjoy your tea, it is a beverage not a clothing accessory.

or 4) You receive Govt Grant money or 5) your company receives
"GOVT SUPPORT". or a Retiree getting Govt pensions.

Those degrees you hold are certainly not in "Business"

Because everything you just wrote reveals your ignorance , not intelligence of how our American business system operates.

You may be doing better than 4 years ago ----BUT THE COUNTRY IS NOT.

What part of 8% unemployment, or people accepting back to work re-employment at 25% less pay than originally received ,do you not understand.
All of us having to pay higher medical insurance premiums starting 2013 to pay for the "real" freeloaders. The real freeloaders are those who DO NOT PAY ANY MEDICAL INSURANCE TODAY.
They claim unaffordability, I would ask--How do you know that?
So you are a fraud in what you claim to know.
You are obviously not interested in AMERICA'S PLIGHT----ONLY THE SELFISH "YOU". You are not interested in the truth because somehow you are Guilty of making more in a period of time when Millions of American's cannot afford their "real estate taxes" to pay for a Government that is making "SLAVES" out of those working people to support the non-working in the name of "COMPASSION and EDUCATION".
You are a disgrace in everything you spew.
You sir , must come from another Country or planet.

The broken economy started with Clinton whether you like it or not. Fair Housing Regulatory Act nearly crashed the economy when Carter tried it, then Clinton reinstituted it even moreso, crashing banks, crashing the housing market (from which all homeowners are still suffering), FORCING banks to loan over a trillion dollars to people who couldn't pay, then buying those worthless loans a minimum of TWICE with taxpayer dollars.
The practice of leaving a mess for someone else to clean-up (your grandchildren in this case), has become the only real "staple" of the Democratic Party.
Just like Clinton, this President is doing the same thing with all of the new taxes that will go into effect when (potentially) someone else will be blamed for them when they fail, or they will have to spend all of their time undoing them.
It's unfortunate, but you don't have even the slightest understanding of how we got in this economic situation.
Over-taxing & over-regulating; basically chasing jobs either out of business, or out of the country, hasn't helped those people you claim to be "saving", it's crippled them, and has also managed to add 3% more of the population into that "needy" (Democrat voter-pool) category.

"A government which robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul."
- George Bernard Shaw

As for the Tea-Party comments, why is it you don't believe the government should be accountable with YOUR money?
Why is it ok to CRIMINALLY ignore passing a budget?

What America is going to get when and if The President gets another 4 years.

E-mail him and ask him if it is true because it is. You will not get an answer to your question. This has all been fact checked and is true.

Bread and Circuses’ is the cancer of democracy, the fatal disease for which there is no cure. Democracy often works beautifully at first. But once a state extends the franchise to every warm body, be he producer or parasite, that day marks the beginning of the end of the state. For when the plebs discover that they can vote themselves bread and circuses without limit and that the productive members of the body politic cannot stop them, they will do so, until the state bleeds to death, or in its weakened condition the state succumbs to an invader—the barbarians enter Rome.” ― Robert A. Heinlein

Obama's Birth Certificate was mentioned in the news this very day.
So, once again, guess who doesn't have a clue what he's talking about, and simply resorts to name-calling & attributing his anger, hatred & insanity to others.

Veterans will be the losers if Romney wins. The Romney-Ryan budget has cut tens of billions. Yesterday's NY Times (Sept 10) brought it all to light and the method the GOP is making to hide it in the budget details. Because this is a complicated area of the budget, it's difficult to read and even more so to explain, so the Democrats have left it alone.

I think Romney and Ryan have to be asked the question directly; "Are you cutting VA benefits?" If they say no, frankly they're lying.

Only the "uninformed" would accept this street speech.
Make yourself a hero to Liberalism, will you ?
How will Veterans lose?
Did you read the Romney Budget? NY times "brought it ALL to light". Yet it's still "hidden in the budget".
It's "Complicated" ? "so the Democrats have left it alone.

You know what , you just admitted that Democrats do not know how to deal with Complicated issues.
That is why This President and Joe Biden will not discuss the complicated Financial issues to their constituents. They and the NY times are the same people.
Class warfare is much simpler to understand.
Barack Obama should not win Missouri , because we are a long way from NY mentality.

Give me an example of "anger" you've found from any tea-party rallies.
I think you have the Tea-Party mixed-up with Occupy.
But then again, I don't expect you to bring any facts to the table, just personal attacks on those who do their homework, cut & paste or not.
I prefer people cutting & pasting facts, than just responding to facts with name-calling & asinine assertions.
Actually, it might be you who is revolutionizing stupidity.
My challenge to you is to bring some substance from time to time, even though we all know you won't. A point you will undoubtedly prove with another baseless, angry, personal attack, void of facts or substance.

Sara. I went ahead and checked your links before commenting on your statement, only to find the first was an editorial, not facts. And two are the same page Repubs claiming Tea Party. And the other one, some guys opinion. The tea party is for smaller accountable government, you know, spending, bailouts, constitution. But what bothers me is the use of "radical" and "extremist". Doesn't the govt and media do enough fear mongering? In an age when the Executive (and future) can detain or assassinate Americans (NDAA), i think its irresponsible to throw around that language. I'm not talking PC, I'm talking about labeling any group of Americans critical of government, in the same light as radical islamist, or the like. Freedom of speech, I get it. But it is hard to deny when the Federal watch list grows and grows with American citizens... well for me, THAT scares me. For you?...probably makes you feel safer.

Republicans can not stand to be called out for their failures, Congress has the lowest rating ever, their failure is evident, in all they say and do, they created this tea-party radical group to make war with President Obama. But its turned on the like a nemesis, the truth is slowly coming out, and will reveal the types of people that are joined at the hip with this group. The Good thing is the majority of people see through their ideology, there are some on this board that has shown this type of delusional behavior so beware, they might bite, but keep in mind its all bark. LOL

"Congress has the lowest rating ever"
First, that's based on public opinion; polls.
You are the perfect example of a public that is uninformed. You always hear Congress this, Congress that, from a HEAVILY biased media. Those are opinions based on the same ignorance you have bought into & continue to spew as if you knew what you were talking about.
Are you aware that Congress has passed over 250+ bills (as of Feb) that are sitting dormant on the floor of Senate? No. You didn't. Are you aware that some of those bills are budgets? How could you be? Are you aware that it is a CRIME for the Senate to not pass a budget & that the CRIMINALS in the Senate haven't even addressed it in over 4 years? No. Of course you didn't know.
See, we already know the crap you are fed, it's you that doesn't know that the truth is different than what you hear from the media. That's why you have to actually do some homework that is based on fact, not emotion (I thought we already addressed this).
You always hear "the Republicans won't work across the aisle", well here's proof that lie is 180 degrees wrong.
You also said "Republicans can not stand to be called out for their failures", yet you are totally oblivious to the Democrats' failures & wouldn't address them if you did. You'd just pretend like they aren't there.
Fair Housing Regulatory, Insider Trading, Unemployment, Budget, ... pages worth, but you would just act like they aren't there.
Give ONE example of "radical" Tea-Party behavior.

Foreign Policy Achievements

President Obama:
• Killed Osama Bin Laden
• Ended Iraq War
• Killed more Al Qaeda leaders than any other President
• Supported "Arab Spring" uprising

Mitt Romney
• None

Mitt Romney: NO foreign policy experience in a very DANGEROUS world!

Obama didn't kill Osama Bin Laden. He was even opposed to going after him in the first place, now he's got you tools calling him a hero. PLUS, nearly jeopardized the operation by giving away military secrets.
He didn't end the war, it was over, as a matter of fact, he started another one in Afghanistan.
The top 4 Al Qaeda leaders were dead before he even became President.
You haven't gotten a single campaign promise from the man. You got 53% more unemployment though, hang you hat on that.
By your logic, he must've also caused the recent Embassy Attacks, since he's so responsible for everything.
You obviously have no use for truth, you seem to prefer erroneous campaign claims, all lacking any facts to back them up.
