This Week Is A Great Skate Escape
Head over to the Lindenwood Ice Arena for some end-of-winter fun.
With a mid-March snow dusting the ground, I can’t help but think of the old saying, “if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.” This week, we’re going to fully embrace the cold weather while it lasts and head over to the Lindenwood Ice Arena for one of the public skating times during the week.
Public skate happens five times each week, with a two-hour window for you to step out on the ice and either try a new activity or, if you are a seasoned skater, to warm up your blades once again. On Saturday and Sunday, head over from 1-3 p.m. or Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. with your adventurous girlfriends or your spouse. This is an activity for everyone.
Not only is it a fun way to escape the everyday routine, but ice skating proves to have some great health benefits. According to skatingfitness.com, ice skating provides a great cardiovascular workout, helps you lose weight, increase endurance, and tone muscles. If you are looking for a fun way to spruce up your workout routine, this is certainly the way to go.
Public skate admission is $5 per person with an additional $2 for skate rental.
The Lindenwood Ice Arena also offers a full snack bar and seating area to take a load off when you’ve made just enough laps around the ice.
