Volunteers to Serve in St. Charles County Parks This Weekend
Serve Day 2011 is this Saturday.
Dozens of community volunteers will be working in St. Charles County Parks from 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Oct. 22, as part of “Serve Day 2011,” a community service day spearheaded by Calvary Church members in the greater St. Louis area.
Volunteers will be planting trees in Broemmelsiek Park, 1615 Schwede Rd., in Wentzville; planting trees in Quail Ridge Park, 5501 Quail Ridge Parkway, in Wentzville; and installing cedar fencing at Towne Park, the Parks Department’s newest development, situated off of Highway 61 near Wentzville.
Volunteers assisting in St. Charles County Parks should bring work gloves, eye protection, sturdy shoes or boots, and water. They will be working with shovels, rakes, hand tools, drills, mulch, pitch forks, wheel barrels, shovels and pick axes throughout the morning.
