Steve Martin is a former professor of mine and he is a great person. Steve Martin is by far one of the most intelligent professors I had in college and deserves to be pur judge.

I have had the pleasure of meeting Mike Carter on several occasions and he is an extremely genuine, hard working and clear sighted person who is active in the community. His stance on Red Light Camera tickets shows that he is for the interest of the people and not just about generating revenue. I am confident that as the Judge of Wentzville he will render justice that is fair and efficient while giving people the respect they deserve.

Mike Carter got a DWI while serving as judge and continued to hear Wentzville DWI cases while his was pending. He now accuses the man who was voted to replace him of just "generating revenue" for actually enforcing the laws that Mike didn't follow himself.

To follow up, it even says on Steve Martin's info page above that he initiated community service hours (in lieu of fines) for certain nonviolent offenders - seems fair to me and not focused on revenue generation.

I don't think Carter has ever tried to hide the fact that he was accused of DWI while he was in office and that he was then found NOT guilty by a jury. That's one of the main reasons why I think he makes such a good candidate for judge. He respects and supports the laws, but he also knows what it's like to be wrongly accused of something. A judge who can clearly see both sides of an issue and has compassion for both sides can be counted on to approach every issue that comes before him without bias and to treat the parties fairly.

"His whole campaign is an insult to the intelligence of St. Charles County residents in the fact that he ran for prosecuting attorney after being charged for driving while intoxicated and refusing to take a breath test. This office is the chief law enforcement officer of the county. It's an office that's supposed to uphold the law, not violate and break the law."

That's a quote from his opposition in a previous campaign. Again, I would just point out that being accused of something is not the same as being guilty of it.

All is quiet with Steve Martin. Controversy follows Mike. I trust Steve.

Getting the beautiful Easter card from Mike Carter was very thoughtful. I appreciated the sentiment when so many people are bashing the Christian faith. He clearly isn't afraid to be criticized and I'm sure someone will find fault with that too.

When candidates, such as Mike Carter, don't have a record they are proud to run on they resort to campaign distractions that lack credibility. Compare the records of the two candidates and I'm confident you'll find that Steve Martin has done a solid job and deserves to be re-elected.

Karl, If you truly think distractions are an issue (which I doubt because every single campaign in the history of the US has them); please see ALL of Martin's distracting mudslinging from 2011 against CARTER -- OMG!! In fact, give him a call and ask him about it. I doubt he is very proud of it.

I have known Steve Martin for many years and have found him to be a dedicated family man with an excellent work ethic who is also respectful, professional, and fair. I have had the opportunity to observe him serving as Municipal Judge in Wentzville and was impressed with his professionalism and his ability to listen and treat all parties involved with respect. My only experience with Carter was as a student in his class at UMSL. Simply put . . . I was unimpressed!

Carter has a 3.9/4.0 overall rating on ratemyprofessor.com from 42 ratings. Seems like you are in the very small minority there.

Few political candidates have the courage to run on their own record. Steve Martin has the character, experience, and track record you can be proud of.
