Wentzville Hires Interim City Administrator

The city worked through Interim City Management, LLC to place George R. Kolb in the position.

The has issued a press release that George R. Kolb will serve as the city's Interim City Manager as part of a contract the city approved with Interim Public Management, LLC.

Kolb has 40 years of city management experience, a Masters of Public Administration degree and is a credentialed City Manager. The press release states that Kolb should be assuming his duties with the City of Wentzville on Sept. 5.

According to the agreement with IPM, the city will pay $3,100 per week plus expenses, provide a city vehicle for business use and pay lodging for Kolb.

The city has also contracted the Mercer Group to find a permanent City Administrator, and once that happens, Kolb will continue with the city for a 45-day transitional period.

The city has been without a permanent City Administrator for a year, since Dianna Wright vacated the position on Aug. 30, 2011. City Finance Director Dennis Walsh has served as Interim City Manager since then.
