Financial Planning Week is Oct. 1-7
Sheldon J. Harber, CFP ®, President of Asset Strategies, Inc., says more people need to consult with a qualified financial planning professional.
“The need for advice is greater now with continue changes in financial markets, tax laws and geo-political forces,” he said. “Economic volatility has made it harder for people to be do-it-yourself financial planners.”
Harber says certified financial planning is unique.
“Not all financial planners are certified,” he said. “I’m a Certified Financial Planner with a degree from the College of Financial Planning in Denver. Not all financial planners are experts in comprehensive planning methods.
“What’s important is that you review your goals and objectives from time to time, and that you’re on schedule to meet your current and future retirement goals and objectives.”
Harber’s firm, Asset Strategies, Inc. has been in business since 1972 and recognized as one of the longest tenured financial planning firms in St. Louis, starting business before there was industry certification and continual education for professionals.
Financial Planning gives people opportunities to hear free financial planning advice.
The Financial Planning Association of Greater St. Louis is teaming up with SLATE CWE (St. Louis Agency on Training and Employment Central West End) to host an educational seminar on personal finance, "How to Survive a Layoff." The seminar will be held at the SLATE CWE, 4811 Delmar Blvd. and is free and open to the public.
