Wentzville Chamber of Commerce Merger with Lake St. Louis-Dardenne Prairie Chamber
On this coming Monday, July 23, the Lake St. Louis-Dardenne Prairie and Wentzville Chambers of Commerce will vote on whether or not to merge into one larger organization.
These two Chambers have colaborated frequently on projects like the Wentzville School District Back-to-School Fair, ribbon cuttings and after hours networking events. There are over 100 common members in the two Chambers, and a 45% crossover of those regularly attending the monthly luncheon general membership meetings.
A merger would pool resources, both financial and human, and produce a more efficient organization. It would also increase the marketing/networking area for all members.
The cities of Dardenne Prairie, Lake St. Louis and Wentzville all support the merger. And, the Boards of Directors of both Chambers voted unanamously to support the merger.
I want to encourage all members of both organizations to exercise your right to be heard and vote "yes" for growth and the support of business in Western St. Charles County.

The WestPlex Region, as it is now referred to in most circles, IS the future growth area of the greater STL-MSA. There is no doubt that even with a lagging economy, Wentzville and the rest of Western St. Charles County will be growing for the next 20 plus years. A combined business organization like the C of C is vital to the success of the region.
Local pubic officials need to be "in touch" with the C of C. It provides a vital link between local municipal and county government and local business. The taxes collected by these local businesses help to "pay the frieght" and meet the various political subdivision's needs including EMS, Fire, Police and public schools, just to name a few.
It makes perfect sense in such a rapidly expanding community to have such an organization. The local business, community officials and "regular" citizens all have something to gain by this merger.
