April 2 is Election Day. Here's some things you need to know before you hit the polls.
Today is the day. Municipal elections will take place today in Wentzville and Lake Saint Louis and all over St. Charles County. Several cities, including O'Fallon and Lake Saint Louis, will chose a mayor. City councils, school boards, and fire and ambulance districts will also be electing new members. Polling places around the city will open bright and early at 6 a.m. for a day full of voting in the election. Here are some things you should probably know before you hit the polls. Major contributors to Ralph Sidebottom's committee include Hoisting Engineers Local 513, Joyce Corey and Joseph Snell.
In his bid to become mayor of Lake Saint Louis, Ward 1 Alderman Ralph Sidebottom barely has outraised incumbent Mike Potter in donations. That's according to campaign finance reports filed with the St. Charles County Election Authority on March 25 and 26. Documents show that Sidebottom's campaign committee raised $1,785 compared to Potter's $1,600. The gap becomes even wider when considering that Potter donated $1,000 to his own committee. The committee also received a $500 donation from St. Charles County Association of Realtors. Major contributions to Sidebottom's campaign came from from Hoisting Engineers Local 513 ($300); Joyce Corey ($200); and Joseph Snell ($150). As of March 25, neither candidate spent very much of the money. …
Documents show that Robert J. Mainieri, Jr's campaign committee has outraised opponent Jim Peanick, Jr's by nearly $40,000.
In the race to become a director on Wentzville Fire Protection District's board, one candidate clearly has the support of firefighters from Wentzville and elsewhere. That's according to campaign finance reports filed with St. Charles County Election Authority and Missouri Ethics Commission. Documents show that Robert J. Mainieri, Jr's campaign committee has outraised opponent Jim Peanick, Jr's by nearly $40,000. Both are vying for a vacant seat on the board. Mainieri's committee is being funded primarily by donations from firefighters in the district, which covers all or parts of Lake Saint Louis, O'Fallon and Wentzville, among other areas in west St. Charles County.
