The PMS Pit and 8 Other Things to Know About the Dirty Girl Mud Run

The Dirty Girl Mud Run, the original women-only national mud run series, is coming to Wright City on September 7. Here are some things you need to know about the event.

  • The Dirty Girl Mud Run is held rain or shine (of course).
  • The first wave of runners goes out at  8 a.m.; the last wave at 4 p.m.
  • The run will be at 11008 Schrekengast Road.
  • The run welcomes women of all ages (14 and up) and athletic abilities.
  • Obstacles—from the “Utopian Tubes” tunnel crawl to the “PMS (Pretty Muddy Stuff)” mud pit—are optional, so participants can skip anything they find too difficult.
  • Forming teams is encouraged, and so are crazy team uniforms.
  • In 2013, Dirty Girl expects to donate $250,000 to Bright Pink, the only national non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancers in young women.
  • Cancer survivors always run free of charge.

"A Dirty Girl Mud Run comes with excitement, laughter, and camaraderie—as well as lots of music, food and drinks. From start to finish, it’s an unforgettable event and an incredible teambuilding experience," a Dirty Girl press release said.
