• Whiz Kid: Raeanna Payne
• Age: 13
• Nominated By: Cathy McCandless
• Accomplishment: Raeanna won the Silver Key Award in the 2011 Missouri Region Scholastic Writing Awards Contest. Her humor piece entitled "'Gymnasium' Is Spelled with a 'G'" was chosen from among 521 submissions from throughout Missouri and the Kansas City, KS area. It will be published in Missouri Youth Write, an online publication which will be available June 1, 2011.
• Key To Awesomeness: For Raeanna, the key to being an awesome student is being a good writer and a hard worker. Tying her humor in with her great writing skill provided her this honor.
