Aldermen Object to $3.5K Washer/Dryer, $6K Fryer for Splash Station
  • An item on Wednesday's board of aldermen meeting didn't wash well with some of the aldermen. Among the items requested for approval for Splash Station were an industrial washer and dryer at a cost of $3,593. Alderman Sonya Shryock said she was still using a refurbished dryer she bought years ago that cost her only $175.
GM Announces $133 Million Addition to Wentzville Plant
  • In a press release Wednesday, General Motors announced another investment in its Wentzville Assembly plant. GM will add a $133 million stamping press that makes fenders, doors and other key parts for GM trucks and vans. The addition of the press could help retain or add 55 jobs at the Wentzville plant.
Reminder: Fireworks ARE Illegal in Wentzville
  • The City of Wentzville would like its citizens to know that it's not only illegal to discharge fireworks in the city, it's also illegal to possess them.
Missouri Ethics Commission Issues Decision on Watkins/Ranken Complaint
  • Ed Watkins, the founder and owner of WE News, LLC, and Graduate America Priority 1 (GAP-1) a key player in early negotiations to bring Ranken Tech to Wentzville, has been cited by the Missouri Ethics Commission for failure to register as a lobbyist. In the decision the commission fined Watkins $1,000, although that fee will be reduced to $100 if paid within 45 days.
