Queen Competition At The St. Charles County Fair
  • Seven candidates competed for the title of St. Charles County Fair Queen Tuesday this year. Judging was held last Saturday, and on Tuesday, the first night of the St. Charles County Fair, the queen and her court were coronated after a program that introduced the candidates and showcased some of the talent performances.
Second Trip Into Store Lands Shoplifter in Jail, Police Say
  • After putting $590 in stolen items into her car at the Wentzville Walmart, a woman returned to the store and attempted to steal an additional $94 in items, police said. Jean Marie Stussie, 60, of the 8400 block of Engler Drive in St. John, was charged July 16 with felony theft and trespassing.
Pedestrian Crossing I-70 Struck By Car
  • A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle traveling east on Interstate 70 in St. Charles county early Monday morning. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the accident occurred at 3:30 a.m. and the victim was transported with serious injuries to a Creve Coeur hospital.
Historical Society Needs Help Preserving Wentzville's Oldest Home
  • "It's ugly, and right now, it's nothing." Wentzville Historical Society President Larry Marshall was talking about a house at 408 East Main Street. The oldest surviving structure in the city of Wentzville currently sits in a state of decay and the owner of the property, the Historical Society, can't afford repairs.
