Wentzville Residents Participate in City-Wide Garage Sale

Annual event drew crowds to area neighborhoods.

This past Saturday marked the beginning of spring cleaning for many residents. It was the cleaning out of winter storage items that is.

The Parks and Recreation Department hosted its annual city wide yard sale Saturday, April 30. Residents from across town woke up bright and early to organize everything from clothes, books, exercise equipment, furniture and old trinkets on table inside their garages in the hope of making a few extra dollars.

Kassidy Schmidt, age 7, a resident of Stone Meadows subdivision, hosted a lemonade stand with the help of her mother in front of her family’s garage sale.

Her family explained that Kassidy wanted to donate all of her proceeds to a charity to research Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), after learning that a family friend’s daughter had died of the disease at eight weeks old.
