Wentzville School District Picks New Interim Superintendent

Dr. Curtis was previously an associate superintendent in Overland Park, KS.

Dr. Curtis Cain, associate superintendent for educational services for the Shawnee Mission School District in Overland Park, KS has been hired by the Wentzville School District to serve as interim superintendent for the upcoming school year.

“We believe Dr. Cain is the right candidate to lead the Wentzville School District during this transitional period,” Board President Dale Schaper said.

“We are the fastest growing district in Missouri, and his experience and vision will help the WSD as we continue to grow and increase student achievement,” Schaper said.

Cain takes over on July 1, and replaces Dr. Terry Adams, who submitted his resignation in April.

Dr. Cain is currently the Associate Superintendent for Educational Services for the Shawnee Mission School District in Overland Park, KS. He holds a B.S. in Social Science Education from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, and a Masters and a Ph.D. in Educational Administration from Iowa State University.

“I am both thrilled and humbled to be selected as the interim superintendent of the Wentzville School District,” Cain said in a district press release. 

“When I think of great quality and reputation I think of the WSD, and I’m looking forward to this opportunity to continue the proud tradition of educational excellence. I plan on getting to know the students, staff, parents, and stakeholders of the District, and my family and I are also looking forward to being active members of the community,” he said.
