Cardinals' World Series Trophy Headed to Wentzville

Residents can take free photos with the 2011 World Series Trophy at the local U.S. Cellular store on Wentzville Parkway.

St. Louis Cardinal fans in Wentzville will get an opportunity to take a free photo with the . The trophy will appear at the U.S. Cellular store in Wentzville from 3 to 7 p.m. March 30. The store is at 1923 Wentzville Pkwy.

Cardinal fans are invited to come to the retail location with their cameras or devices and get a photograph taken with the trophy at no cost. For those who forget their cameras, U.S. Cellular associates will have an HTC Flyer mobile tablet on hand to take pictures of the fans and can send the photos directly to their email accounts.

The 30-pound trophy stands two feet tall and features 30 gold-plated flags, one for each of the Major League Baseball teams, which rise above an arched baseball with latitude and longitude lines symbolizing the world. To ensure the proper preservation, the trophy will travel in a case in its own luxury vehicle throughout the tour.

“Through our partnership with the Cardinals, we are always looking for ways to enhance the fan experience,” said Nathan Waddell, director of sales for U.S. Cellular in Missouri. “Bringing the trophy to the fans through the trophy tour is one of the ways U.S. Cellular and the Cardinals can reward fans for their loyalty and support.”
