Chamber Hears About Library's Services for Businesses

The Lake Saint Louis-Dardenne Prairie Chamber of Commerce met last week at Lake Forest Country Club.

It's a rough environment out there to start or grow a new business, but the St. Charles City-County Library District offers resources and information that can help.

Business/Public Management Information Resource Manager Trevor L. Rees spoke to the Lake Saint Louis - Dardenne Prairie Chamber of Commerce last week at the chamber's monthly luncheon meeting to outline those services.

The library can help with business plans and start-up, legal and licensing requirements and demographic information, such as assembling lists of competitors. A library card may be needed to obtain materials or access some information remotely, but some materials can be used at the library without having to obtain a card first. A card is also not needed to be able to meet with library specialists.

Three very useful databases at the library are Dun & Bradstreet (available on in-library) and Standard & Poor's Netadvantage and Reference USA (both available remotely).

The library district's business/public management webpage is the jump-off page for business topics, assistance and resources.
