GM Plant in Wentzville to Add New Jobs

Second shift, 1,850 jobs approved in new UAW contract.

After weeks of speculation, plans to add nearly 2,000 jobs at the in Wentzville have taken another step forward.

According to KMOV, UAW workers approved a contract Monday which created a second shift and will add around 1,850 jobs.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch notes the contract will run for four years and was approved by 83 percent of UAW members.

Previously the Wentzville Board of Aldermen approved the use of at the plant. The bonds would abate tax on the construction and new equipment for a period of time.
