Mrs. B's County Kitchen Now Open on Luetkenhaus Boulevard

Mrs. B's offers home cooking with daily specials.

Chad Brown's mother ran a restaurant in Potosi for 15 years, so maybe it wasn't such a stretch when the Cottleville police officer decided to try his hand at the business.

Chad and his wife Jennifer, who live in Cottleville, opened Mrs. B's Country Kitchen at 403 Luetkenhaus Boulevard in Wentzville just before Christmas.

The restaurant serves their full menu all day, so if you're someone who loves an omelet for lunch (as I do!) you can get it. (And I did, the day I visted Mrs. B's—a HUGE and very tasty four-egg omelet.)

Hours are 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Mrs. B's is closed on Mondays.

"On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, we're pretty busy," Jennifer said.

For breakfast, the Browns offer eggs, bacon and sausage, fried 'taters', pancakes and biscuits and gravy in addition to omelets. For lunch, there are burgers, chicken breast sandwiches and pork tenderloin. The daily blue-plate specials include meatloaf, fried chicken, pork steaks, lasagna, beef tips and liver and onions.

When asked if the restaurant had a signature dish, Jennifer Brown suggested "CJ's Bird," a chicken breast sandwich with jalapenos and hot sauce.

Diners can top off their meal with a piece of home-made pie or cake.

Breakfasts prices range from $3.50 to $7.20, omelets from $6.75 to $9.75, burgers from $5.60 to $7.99.

The Browns post their daily specials on their Facebook page. For instance, this past Sunday, diners could get hand-breaded chicken breast strips and coleslaw together with mashed potatoes and white gravy for $6.95.
