According to a city news release, the site’s name should be inspired by the natural features or relationship to its storm water benefits. The city completed a storm water project on the site for flood relief and to create green space for the public.

The site will be used an outdoor class room for local schools, a pocket park within the neighborhood, and a quiet respite for nature lovers. For more on the naming contest, see the city's website.
