The Holt High School Marching Band led the crowd in a rousing cheer of "S-A-M-S!" A men's choir performed, and Petty Officer First Class Jenero Wilson sang an inspiring version of the National Anthem.
Sam's Club celebrated its Grand Opening Tuesday morning, after a "soft" opening Monday night drew a huge crowd.
The celebration culminated with Store Manager Steven Johnson snipping a blue ribbon with a pair of oversized scissors, and the Wentzville Sam's Club was open for business.
Wentzville Sam's Club has hired 200 new employees and has already given $39,000 to local charities and service groups.
In a press release, Wentzville Mayor Nick Guccione said, "We are already seeing that Sam's Club is going to be a great partner with our community. The increase in tax revenue the club will bring will allow for better roads, more police and other benefits for our area. We truly expect the opening of Sam's club to spur more growth in Wentzville as we reach our second phase of growth."
