Twelve Trays of Donuts at Wentzville Donut Café

On the twelfth day of Christmas, Downtown Wentzville has for me: twelve trays of donuts.

Ross and Tina Hopkins have owned and managed the Wentzville Donut Café since May of 2012. They've perfected a from-scratch recipe using the best ingredients to produce not only a traditional glazed donut, but also a yummy flavor-filled bismarck (custard, angel fluff, strawberry, streusel apple), apple fritters, fruit rings and cinnamon rolls.

The Café also has a large selection of cake donuts, including chocolate devils food, triple threat (devils food with chocolate chips and chocolate icing), old fashion, blueberry and streusel crumb

In addition to trays of luscious donuts, the cafe also offers a little more substantial fare for those looking for a hardier breakfast: biscuits and gravy, a sausage, egg and cheese biscuit and a bagel sandwich.

The Café is open seven days a week from 5 a.m. to noon, and welcomes groups to enjoy their large comfortable dining space.

Wentzville Patch is proud to be partnering with the Wentzville Donut Café in our effort to make it to 1,000 Facebook "likes." On Dec. 7, we issued a challenge to our readers: help us make it to our goal, and Patch will provide free coffee and donuts at the Café on January 4.

Since then, we've gone from 849 "likes" to 957 (as of this writing). We're looking forward to meeting many of our readers and Facebook friends and getting to know you all better over a cup of coffee and a GREAT donut!
