Wentzville Gives Residents 118 Reasons to Buy New Appliance

The city will waive its sales tax on appliances—including air conditioners and furnaces—from April 19 through April 25 to participate in the Show-Me Green Sales Tax Holiday.

If you’re considering buying a new appliance, air conditioner or furnace, the city of Wentzville has given you some incentive to buy one soon.

The city will participate in the Show-Me Green Sales Tax Holiday April 19 through April 25. On those dates, customers who buy appliances from Wentzville stores that are Energy Star certified do not have to pay sales tax on up to $1,500 of the purchase. The effort helps Missourians purchase energy-efficient appliances.

The sales tax at most Wentzville locations is 7.9 cents per dollar. The savings on a $1,500 purchase would be $118.50.
