What Should Go Here: Former 'Norm's'

Each week, we highlight a vacant commercial space and ask: What business would you like to see move into this area?

We want Wentzville Patch to be a place where you can not only find out what's going on around town, but a place where you can share your thoughts and ideas with neighbors.

Our newest feature—Visions for Vacancies—aims to help residents take an active role in planning and building their community.

Each week, we'll highlight a vacant commercial space and ask what you would like to see move into this area? If you know of an area you'd like to see highlighted, tell us in the comments.

This week, we are taking a look at a location that used to be Norm's, a bar and grill, at 1462 South Service Road. Before that, it was a Culpepper's, and before that, a Chinese buffet. Before that? I have to admit, I'm not sure.

If it were up to you, what would you like to see there? What do you think would best serve the Wentzville community in that spot?

Since it has good highway exposure, a sit down restaurant with an established reputation should do well there. Lambert's? Cracker Barrel?

McAlisters or some healthy food option... we have enough burger joints!

It should be the same type of place, they have a great bar, good place for a band, so sorry to see Norms go so quickly. It was a great bar with great food & nice atmosphere.

What about a Goodwill, or how about Burger King since it shut down it's store by the old Belz Mall

How about a nice Steak Restaurant like Texas Roadhouse, Outback or Harry J's

How about a Long John Silver's,Popeyes or Captain D's? There or no fish places closer than St. Peter's. I live in Moscow Mills and shop in Wentzville at least once a week.

Wonder if this spot would be big enough for a Trader Joe's ...

It was Hardees before the chinese restaurant. My vote would be Capt. D's, Texas Roadhouse, or Longhorn.

Ah. . . Hardees. Thanks, Barbara. I should have remembered that. I used to shop at the old Schnuck's north of the highway all the time.

i like the ideas.....Lambert's, Cracker Barrel, or a fish place! All wonderful ideas. as long as it doesn't just sit empty and become an eye sore for Wentzville.
