Wentzville Christmas Tree Lighting, Parade Are Sunday

Event starts at the intersection of Pearce and Luekenhaus Blvd.

The ninth annual holiday parade and Christmas tree lighting ceremony is this weekend.

The parade will be held Sunday immediately following the Wentzville Holiday Tree Lighting ceremony, which is slated for 5:30 p.m.

The parade starts at Budget Towing on Luetkenhaus Boulevard. It will travel south on Luetkenhaus Boulevard, then turn and go west on Pearce Boulevard, terminating at the .

At the firehouse, kids and adults alike can gather for cookies, candy canes, hot chocolate, and, of course, a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Parents are encouraged to bring their camera as children sit on Santa’s lap.

The theme of this year's parade is Spirit of the Season. Second, at least some portion of the entry must be lit. The float will carry the official Santa for the parade.

The Wentzville Downtown Business Association is sponsoring prizes for parade entries. Prizes are $100 for first place, $50 for second place, and $25 for third place.

The Wentzville Board of Aldermen and their spouses will serve as judges for the parade entries and they will present the prizes to the winning entries at the firehouse, immediately following the parade.

Sponsors for this year’s parade are the Wentzville Chamber of Commerce, Wentzville Downtown Business Association, Wentzville Fire Department and the .
