Breakfast with Santa at Progress Park and 19 Other Things to Do This Weekend

As we head into the weekend, Patch rounds up a list of events going on in St. Charles County.

  • Wentzville Breakfast with Santa: Saturday Dec. 8 at 8:30 a.m. at Progress Park, 968 Meyer Rd, Wentzville. Join Santa for breakfast followed by a craft and fun games. Each child will have individual time with Santa for parents to take pictures. Craft and games are targeted for children ages 2 and older.
  • FAM JAM: Free Family Night Out: Friday, Dec. 7 at 6 p.m. at Morning Star Church, 1600 Feise Rd., Dardenne Prairie. Fam Jam is designed to bring parents and kids together for an evening of entertainment. For 45-minutes, families engage in a live production packed with high-energy music, drama, media, comedy and a look at the Good Book.
  • Peine Ridge PTO Winter Wonderland - Vendor/Craft Show & Pancake Dinner: Friday, Dec. 7 at 6 p.m. at Peine Ridge Elementary, 1107 Peine Rd, Wentzville. Enjoy all-you-can-eat pancakes, crafts and more. Cost is $7. Money raised will help to purchase a mobile computer lab for the students.
  • St. Peters DJ Skate: Friday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. at St. Peters Rec-Plex, 5200 Mexico Rd. Bring the whole family for ice skating, games, prizes and music.  Cost is Rec-Plex admission (plus $3 skate rental, if needed)
  • Christmas Traditions: This annual festival runs every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday, starting Nov. 23, through Dec. 24. It features a cast of more than 30 Christmas characters including a Victorian-era Santa and Tiny Tim from A Christmas Carol. See hours here.
  • O'Fallon's Celebration of Lights: The annual holiday lights display opens for the season on at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23 and continues nightly through Dec. 30. Guests can make reservations for sleigh, train or carriage rides.Click here for more information. 
  • Wentzvile Holiday Night Lights:  In Rotary Park, 2577 West Meyer Rd., Wentzville. Guests walk through the holiday light displays and enjoy refreshments. Santa Claus will also stop by to visit with and take photos with children. Cost is $3. Children under age 6 are free. 
  • 'Steel Magnolias' Play in O’Fallon: Performances of the comedy-drama are Dec. 7-9 at O'Fallon City Hall. The curtain goes up at 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and at 2 p.m. on Sundays. Tickets can be purchased in advance by calling 636-474-2732 or at the Renaud Spirit Center. Cost is $10 for general admission (ages 18-64), $8 for students (ages 6-17) and seniors (age 65 and up), and free for ages 5 and under. For an additional $2 each, tickets can be purchased at the box office, which opens one hour before the start of each show.
  • Spirit of Christmas Dinner & Dance: Friday, Dec. 7 at 6 p.m. at Progress Park, 968 Meyer Rd, Wentzville. Cost is $13. Guests start the Christmas season with music, dancing and door prizes. Participants will enjoy dinner served by the Parks & Recreation staff and volunteers. 
  • Breakfast with Santa at O'Charley's: Saturday, Dec. 8, from 8-11 a.m. at O’Charley’s, 2204 Highway K, O'Fallon. Families are invited to have breakfast with Santa Claus and visit with Cardinal Cowboy and Star Wars’ Stormtroopers. The cost is $10 per adult, and children under age 10 eat for free. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of St. Louis.
  • Rendezvous Cafe & Wine Bar Breakfast with Santa: Saturday, Dec. 8 at 8:30 a.m. at Rendezvous Cafe & Wine Bar, 217 S Main St, O Fallon. Enjoy a buffet breakfast while kids visit with Santa. Cost is $10 adults, $8 kids (2-11). Make a reservation by calling 636-281-2233.
  • St. Peters Breakfast With Santa: Saturday, Dec. 8 at 8:30 a.m. at St. Peters Rec-Plex South, 5250 Mexico Rd. Children ages 2-8 are invited to meet Santa, play games, sing songs and make crafts. 
  • O'Fallon Fire Pictures With Santa: Santa will also stop by the O'Fallon Fire Protection District's fourth annual Free Picture with Santa event on Saturday, Dec. 8, Sunday, Dec. 9 and Saturday, Dec. 15. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on both days at Station #4, 1306 Sunview Dr. Kids will enjoy cookies, punch, tours of the fire station and coloring while they wait to meet Santa at this free event. Parents should be sure to bring their own cameras to snap additional photos of the festivities. The O'Fallon Fire Protection District is collecting donations for local food pantries, and encourages guests to bring canned food items for donation. 
  • O'Fallon Pizza With Santa-The ninth annual O'Fallon Pizza with Santa event is Saturday, Dec. 8 from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the O’Fallon Municipal Centre. This event also includes games, crafts and photo opportunities with Santa. Cost is $10 for O'Fallon residents and $12 for non-residents. Registration is required and will close on Wednesday, Dec. 7. Parents and grandparents must register if they are eating pizza. Registration has been extended to Thursday, Dec. 6. Click here for registration information.  
  • St. Charles Breakfast with Santa: Saturday, Dec. 8 at 9 a.m. at Lower Level 1 of Memorial Hall. Cost is $8 per person. Children ages 1-12 are invited to visit with Santa, eat breakfast, make crafts and take photos. 
  • Santa's North Pole Dash and 1-Mile Fun Walk: Saturday, Dec. 8 at 9 a.m. at 230 S Main St, St. Charles. Greater St. Charles County Chamber of Commerce announces they will be holding the 2nd annual Santa’s North Pole Dash & Children’s Snowman Shuffle in Historic St. Charles. The event is for individuals 12 years of age and older. The first 1,000 participants receive a drawstring Santa’s bag filled with a long-sleeved shirt like Santa’s Jacket, hat, beard andgloves they can wear during the race. No day of registration. 
  • :Saturday, Dec. 8 at 1 p.m. at Main Street Books, 307 S Main St, St. Charles. Main Street Books will feature three authors signing books. Customers may bring in a canned good to be donated to area food pantries and receive 20 percent off their entire purchase that day.
  • 25th Annual Holiday Remembrance Program: Saturday, Dec. 8 at 1:30 p.m. at 3950 W Clay St., St. Charles. This program is designed to help families cope with the holiday season after their loved one has passed away. The event concludes with a Candle Lighting Tribute Ceremony and a reading of names. Refreshments will be served and guests receive a special Holiday Keepsake. 
  • LSL Santa's Workshop: Saturday, Dec. 8 at 11 a.m. at Lake Saint Louis Community Association, 100 Cognac Court, Lake Saint Louis. Admission is free to LSL residents with a canned food donation to support the local food pantry. Guests will enjoy crafts, games and a "special visitor" will be joining them by the fireplace for a little chat and a holiday photo courtesy of STL Digital.
