Bright Flight Scholar Eric Fallon to attend Missouri University of Science and Technology

Eric Fallon, 18, of Lake Saint Louis, earned four scholarships which he will use at the Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla, MO.

Whiz Kid: Eric Fallon, 18, of Lake Saint Louis.

Accomplishment: Fallon will attend the Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla in the fall.  Fallon graduated magna cum laude from Timberland High School in May with a 3.75 grade point average.  He received four scholarships in total. The Wentzville Community Club granted him a scholarship based on an essay he wrote for the club. MST gave him three academic scholarships including the Curator, Miner and Excellence Scholarships.

Fallon was also one of 42 Bright Flight scholars honored at the Wentzville Board of Education meeting this week. Bright Flight is a program of the Missouri Department of Higher Education. It is a merit-based program that encourages top-ranked high school seniors to attend approved Missouri postsecondary schools.  Fallon will be eligible for additional scholarship money in the coming years as the state of Missouri makes funds available. His score of 30 on the ACT test earned him this honor.

Key to Awesomeness: “I did well because of the ACT prep classes I took whenever they were available,” Fallon said. “My parents really motivated me to do this.  They let me know how important it is. I took the classes and really studied the ACT prep book and took one practice test. That made all the difference in the world.”
