City 2 City Run Encourages Family Participation

The Sept. 17 run starts at The Meadows and ends up at Dardenne Prairie City Hall.

The inaugural City 2 City 5K Run/Walk and One-Mile Fun Run hits the pavement this Saturday. The Sept. 17 event starts in Lake Saint Louis at and finishes at Dardenne Prairie City Hall.

"This is a great flat course perfect for the first time runner and families," said President and CEO of the Lake Saint Louis-Dardenne Prairie Chamber of Commerce Gena Breyne. "We are encouraging families to run together and are offering a discount for families that register together. The YMCA will also hold a drawing for one lucky family to receive a free 3 month household membership to the O’Fallon Family YMCA so that they can continue to grow healthy together."

Award packages that will be presented to the top overall male and female finishers will include a $100.00 gift certificate to at The Meadows.

Awards will also be given to the top three finishers for ages 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+ . 

Participants of the 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk, 12 years and under, will also receive an award.  The first 300 participants will receive a t-shirt.

The entry fee is $30. Packet pickup and registration will be available at Hawk Ridge Family Chiropractic, 6251 Ronald Reagan Dr. in Lake Saint Louis on Sept. 15 and 16 from 10 a.m to 8 p.m. Packets will also be available on the day of the race at 7 a.m. at The Meadows.

"The run supports our fund that annually awards scholarships to local high school students," Breyne said. "We are also working to promote, educate and raise awareness about health in our community."
