Crider Fundraiser at the Meadows is Totally 80s

Post your best example of 80s fashion and get inspired for the 80s-themed 5K run/walk on Aug. 11.

And you thought you'd never use those shoulder pads again.

Here's your chance to drag out those 80s styles, along with the big hair and mall bangs of the 1980s while you help raise money for a good cause—Crider Health Center.

Crider urges every one to dress in their wildest 1980’s inspired fashion and come have a bodaciously good time at Crider Health Center’s Totally 80’s 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 6:30 p.m.

For inspiration, we've posted trailers from some iconic movies of the 1980s. Help us drum up some excitement for the event by posting a pic of yourself or your family in your best 80s style.

The run will take place at in Lake Saint Louis.  After the run participants can stick around for the Rerun After Party with DJ and drinks.

To sign up, visit www.active.com or call Christina Bogusky at 636-332-2134.  Registration is $10 per person for the 1 mile walk or $20 per person for the 5K Run; however, registration increases to $25 per person on August 7th.  Groups are encouraged and special pricing is available.

“There is a great deal of excitement surrounding this 5K run, not only because of the 1980’s theme, but because it is an event that families can participate in together, said Julia Barbagallo, President of the Young Professionals Board for Crider Health Center.  “We are very excited to be hosting an event that helps put the fun back into living a healthy lifestyle.”

The Young Professionals Board is a diverse group of individuals, ages 25-40, who strive to extend the mission of Crider Health Center in achieving “full, productive, healthy lives for everyone” through fundraising and community outreach.  For more information about Crider Health Center or to learn how you can become involved with the Young Professionals Board, please contact Julia Barbagallo at jbarbagallo@cridercenter.org.
