Welcome to The Daily Dose, Wentzville Patch's attempt to equate itself to your morning cup of coffee.
The Daily Dose is a new Wentzville Patch feature. Essentially, it's an updated Wake Up Wentzville. A little bit of old, a little bit of new!
We hope you'll make The Daily Dose part of your daily routine. And we'd love to hear from you on how we can make The Daily Dose a more integral part of your morning. Any suggestions can be sent to Local Editor Brian Feldt at email@example.com.
1. Weather from the National Weather Service
Mostly sunny today, with a high near 57. Tonight, partly cloudy, with a low around 34. A chance of showers remains for Friday and Saturday. Your Super Bowl Sunday appears dry and parly sunny at the moment.
2. Montee Ball to Stay at Wisconsin for Senior Season
, the native and product, told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch on Thursday that he would put the NFL on hold to remain at Wisconsin for his senior year.
From the report:
Ball finished fourth in the Heisman Trophy voting and will be the highest-returning vote-getter after rushing for 1,923 yards and matching Barry Sanders' single-season record of 39 touchdowns as a junior.
Despite the huge season, the NFL draft advisory board informed Ball that he was projected to be selected no earlier than the middle of the second round, possibly early in the third.
"Obviously, I feel I could make a little money," he said. "But by coming back, I can better my stock. It's a gamble, but I believe it's in my favor."
