Eastern Shores Estates Receives Commendation

Lake Saint Louis' Jardin du Lac Garden Club recognizes Eastern Shores' entrance for landscaping and beautification

Each year Jardin du Lac Garden Club has an opportunity to award a Citation of Commendation to a commercial or industrial firm, organization, public institution or an individual in recognition for landscaping and beautifying an area for the enjoyment of the public or for meritorious service for community betterment. Jardin du Lac has this opportunity to give such an award by being a member of the Federated Garden Clubs of Missouri.

This year the award was given to the neighborhood of Eastern Shores Estates on Wednesday evening March 2, 2011 during their Home Owners Association meeting. The beautiful entrance to their neighborhood is not only welcoming but also beautifies the community of Lake St. Louis. A sign will be placed at the entrance for the month of April recognizing this citation. Members accepting the award are Trustees Drew Cherven and Rick Thurwachter. Trustee Gail Higginbothan has a great interest in the continuing care of the landscaping at the entrance, but was not in attendance.

Whether the entrance to your neighborhood is large or small it doesn’t take much time, money or effort to landscape for year round beauty. The photo of the gazebo at the entrance is ablaze with colorful annuals including impatiens and  geraniums all summer long with mums in the fall. This photo was taken in winter and utilizes a few evergreens behind the gazebo to add some winter interest in addition to the beautiful brick gazebo.
