Looking for something fun to do with the kids before Halloween? Look no further. Patch has a round-up of local activities for mom, dad, the kids and even the dogs!

Wednesday, Oct. 19

  • Kathryn Linnemann library presents tales from the beyond. See real artifacts including a ticket for the Titanic, Haitian voodoo doll and Jivaro shrunken heads. Event runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Friday, Oct. 21

  • Lake Saint Louis Parks and Recreation and the Lake Saint Louis Mother's Club is holding their annual family-friendly Halloween Party at Founders Park from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Activities will include a hayride, inflatables, a DJ, balloon sculptures and a flashlight candy hunt. All children in costume will be entered into a raffle for more prizes.

Saturday, Oct. 22

  • In O’Fallon, kids ages 2 to 99 are invited to a pumpkin picnic and hayride. Costumes are welcome. Reservations are required, and there are just a few spots left, so hurry if you want to attend this one.
  • The Butterfly House, located at 15193 Olive Blvd. in Chesterfield, will hold its annual on Oct. 22 at 11 a.m. Kids are encouraged to wear costumes. Games and treats are available. The cost of the party is included with admission to the Butterfly House.  
  • The city of Crestwood will hold the Howlin’ Hound Run at Crestwood Park on Oct. 22 at 10 a.m. Why should humans have all the fun? This event is designed for dogs. Humans also welcome.
  • The Missouri is a Halloween Party on the Katy Trail. Dress for the occasion and get ready to ride from Weldon Springs Trailhead to Augusta.
  • will allow guests to make their way through the Boone home and village in Defiance. Tours begin at 6 p.m. and the last tickets are sold at 9 p.m.
  • St. Charles YMCA will host a for kids ages 7-12 from 8:30 p.m. Oct. 22 to 7 a.m. Oct. 23.
  • St. Charles Parks and Recreation Department will host a from noon to 3 p.m. as well as a pet parade at noon starting at Blanchette landing. Pet costumes and contests as well as vendor booths will add to the fun.

Sunday, Oct. 23

  • Kids between 1 and 10 who live in are invited to Halloween Happenings at the Progress Park Gymnasium from 2 to 4 p.m. Kids can wear costumes and visit with clowns, as well as play games and jump in bounce houses. This event is for residents only.

Thursday, Oct. 27

  • The city of Maryland Heights will hold a Halloween parade. The event is free, but reservations are required.
  • The Weber Road Branch of the St. Louis County Library in Affton is holding a at 3 p.m. This free event is for ages 3 and up and offers games, crafts and refreshments. Costumes encouraged.

Friday, Oct. 28

  • The Wild Bird Sanctuary, located at 125 Bald Eagle Road in Valley Park, is hosting Creatures of Halloween from 7 to 8 p.m. 
  • The Jefferson County Library in Arnold is offering a full day of Halloween fun at its Halloween Hauntings event from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Guests will enjoy crafts, stories, movies and more.
  • Webster Groves will have its own special event for pets at the Recreation Complex Gymnasium. The Mask and Fur Ball costs $10 per dog for advance registration or $15 per dog on the day of the event. Humans are free. Dogs can wear Halloween costumes, and pre-registration is required.

Saturday, Oct. 29

  • will host a Halloween Spooktacular from 2 to 4 p.m.
  • will celebrate Halloween from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a trick-or-treat day for children 12 and under and their families. The day will include face painting, candy and pumpkins. The cost is $1 for children and free for adults. For more information call 636-949-4787.
  • The Affton Presbyterian Church, located at 9217 Gravois Road, will host its annual Halloween Trunk-or-Treat event from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Head to Library on Oct. 29 from 2 to 3 p.m. for mad science. Create monster slime, vampire blood and more.
  • St. Peters residents can see the St. Charles Symphony in a special spooky Halloween concert at the St. Peters Cultural Arts Center. Musicians will be in costume, and kids who don costumes will be given a special treat.
  • The Carondelet Rec Complex, located at 930 Holly Hills Ave., is hosting its second annual at 5:30 p.m. The event costs $5, but families who decorate a trunk and hand out candy will get in free.
  • The Jefferson County Library in Arnold is having a Teen Halloween Party. Teens ages 12 to 18 should wear costumes for the costume contest. All ages are welcome, and sign-up is requested.
  • in Lake Saint Louis' annual Halloween event, Monsters on the Meadows, will be 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 29. Kids can trick-or-treat from store to store and enjoy pumpkin painting and hayrides, too.
