Wentzville Patch issued a challenge to our readers and Facebook friends on Dec. 4: Help us get to 1,000 Facebook "likes," and we'll pay for free donuts and coffee.

You were up to that challenge. You invited friends and family to our Facebook page, and the number started to climb. From 849 likes, it went up and up and up—sometimes by one or two, then a lull, then a surge of 20.
