Lake Saint Louis Man Sentenced to Probation, $5K Fine for Removing Government Records

Jefferey Goebel pled guilty to illegally removing records from a government office.

Jefferey Goebel, 57, of Lake St. Louis was sentenced today for illegally removing goverment records, a felony charge, the U.S. Attorney's office reported.

Goebel was sentenced to two years of probation, a $5,000 fine, $1,000 restitution and 40 hours of community service. 

Goebel was a Director at the Office of Commercial Partnerships for the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA) in 2010 when he came into possession of a spreadsheet with costs and contractor's proposals. When he left that position and went to work for a private company, Goebel gave the spreadsheet to a co-worker.
