Looking for a Home: Two Playful Pups and a Cuddly Cat

Looking to add something four-footed and furry to your family? Heartland Humane Society of Missouri, The Humane Association of Warren County, and Five Acres Animal Shelter have lots of dogs and cats just waiting for a forever home like yours!

Louie

Louie is available from Five Acres Animal Shelter. He is a 2 ½-year-old male cat with beautiful medium length charcoal gray fur. He is playful yet cuddly. Louie is a special needs cat because he is FIV positive and is on a special diet. Don’t let this deter you though, he thinks he is normal and has a lot of love to give! If you are looking for a great cat with a friendly disposition, Louie just may be the one you’ve been looking for. Stop by and meet him and his other friends at the shelter any day between 2-6pm.

Five Acres Animal Shelter is a 501c3 nonprofit organization located in St. Charles. Our mission is to end pet homelessness, promote responsible pet ownership and advocate for animal welfare. We are the only no kill shelter in St. Charles County and rely completely on private support. We rescue and find homes for hundreds of dogs and cats every year. Payton

Payton is a goofy little lab mix; here at the Heartland Humane Society of Missouri, we believe she most likely has some sort of terrier in as well. She is a small to medium sized dog with a pointier face and a naturally nubby tail. Payton is roughly five years old and still has a lot of life and love in her. This poor girl was picked up as a stray and tossed into a cage at a local animal control. She sat in a cage for over a month unclaimed and unwanted. A worker there called up the Lovely Heartland Ladies knowing we have a soft spot for goofy little dogs having a tough time getting placed.

They saw a lot of potential in her and didn’t want her to end up being put down for space reasons; we trusted their judgment and Payton was brought to us that week! We affectionately call Payton our funny little sausage link as she is a bit plump and longer, but sitting in a small cage for a month and a half with little exercise will do that to a pup or anybody really! As playful and goofy as Payton is she will trim up in no time at all. She gets along great with other dogs and would be an awesome playmate for older children. We say this because she is a rambunctious little player! Payton has been spayed, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, and up to date on all of her vaccinations. This sweetheart is all ready for a home of her own and trust us she will not disappoint you! If you’re ready to get a dog that is going to fill your life with laughter and unconditional love then look no more because Payton here is your girl!

Gus

Available from the Human Association of Warren County is Gus, a two-year-old wire-hair dachshund mix. Gus came to an AWA foster home when his family no longer could care for him. When he arrived at an AWA foster home it was relayed that he lost one eye due to an accident when he was a pup. Gus is outgoing, loves to chase anything, adores attention, is great with children and good with other dogs. He is a happy-go-lucky sort of guy! Gus' adoption fee is $100.00. He is up to date on all shots, flea/tick/heartworm preventitive, and is neutered and microchipped. For more information or to set up an appointment to meet Gus, please call our main line at 636-297-0486 or email startingover@centurytel.net
