Lake Saint Louis Disney Wedding Goes Viral

Today, a story about the couple's wedding appeared on the London Daily Mail's website.

When Jamie and Chris Chandler married in September 2011, it was a fairy-tale dream come true. The Disney-themed ceremony in Lake Saint Louis' Boulevard Park was featured on both Lake Saint Louis Patch and O'Fallon Patch.

On Feb. 7, the story went international, appearing on the website of the London Daily Mail: The ultimate fairytale ending? Disney fanatics tie the knot dressed as Ariel and her Prince Charming.

The couple has even had to set up a separate email account just for emails about the wedding.

Patch asked Jamie's father, Bill Blanke of O'Fallon, how his daughter was handling the media frenzy about her themed wedding.

"It's something that just came out of the blue," Blanke said. "They're glad that they are getting to share it with everyone."

But there is a downside, Blanke said. Internet "trolls" have been busy in the comments sections of the wedding stories. "Some of them have been pretty nasty," he said. It wasn't easy for his daughter to deal with, he said, buts she's managed to move past it.

Jamie and Chris are currently making arrangements for two television appearances. It's a very exciting time for them, and also a little overwhelming.

"This has been the strangest week of my entire life," she said.
