A 911 call to police at 3:36 about a shooting on Niagra Drive led to a lockdown of the neighborhood until a SWAT team was able to determine that the shooter was dead. A juvenile male was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds.

Police released the name of the deceased, Laurie Anderson, later in the evening.

On Sunday morning, Wentzville Police issued a press release confirming that Laurie Anderson was the mother of the juvenile male and that she shot him before killing herself. Police also confirmed that the boy was in stable condition.
