Radio Station Broadcasts From The Meadows

Fresh 102.5 provided some cheerful holiday tunes for local shoppers on a drizzly Tuesday.

Radio personality Vic Porcelli greeted shoppers at on Dec. 20 from a blue pop-up tent in front of . Despite a nearly day-long drizzle, visitors to the shopping center enjoyed free hot chocolate and free horse-drawn carriage rides.

Cody Kittle and his friends Brette Dollins and Kristen Wolf, all of Troy, MO, gathered at the mall and took advantage of the free carriage rides. "But they reined us in with the free hot chocolate," Kittle said.

"We're just old friends from high school, trying to catch up," Dollins explained.

An O'Fallon aunt and her nieces also stood in line for a ride. "We've been on a hay ride before, but not a carriage ride," the aunt said, while nieces Isabelle, 6, and Sophia, 8, shivered in the misty drizzle. "First the ride, then we're going to get hot chocolate!"

The carriage rides were provided by St. Louis Carriage Company, and they will be returning to The Meadows on Saturday, Christmas Eve.
