Root Ball Celebrates Lake Saint Louis' Tenth Anniversary as a Tree City USA

The ball and live auction will fund outreach programs for the Tree Board.

Three days are left to purchase tickets for Lake Saint Louis' first Root Ball—a party "under the stars" at that will feature dinner, live music and dancing, an auction and guest speaker Missouri State Sen. Scott Rupp.

The Root Ball runs from 6 p.m. - 10 p.m. on Sat., Sept. 17 in the Meadows' Clocktower Plaza.

will serve at sit-down dinner of Chicken Speidini, Sicilian Pasta, salad and dessert, and a cash bar will be available. Guests are asked to dress in cocktail attire.

Items in the live auction include:

  • A weekend at Lied Lodge Bed & Breakfast in Lincoln, Nebraska
  • A five-day photo safari in South Africa in Kruger National Park (airfare not included)

  • Gift baskets from the Meadows, Starbucks, and others

The event, organized by the Lake Saint Louis Tree Board, will fund outreach programs to take Limby, the group's mascot, into schools and the community to educate about trees and tree care.

Tree Board alderman liaison George Rich talked to Patch at a Tree Board meeting. "It's been a long, hot summer," he said. "It's time to celebrate the wonderful fall weather and Lake Saint Louis' tenth anniversary as a Tree City USA by coming out to the Root Ball."
