It's Tuesday, the kids are back in school, the temperatures are—slightly—more moderate. Could fall be here soon?

Fall is also festival season. (Did you make it out to Festival of the Little Hills last weekend?) We've got lots coming up in August and September. Aug. 27 is Katee's Butterfly Festival in Boulevard Park. Wentzville's Wabash Days is the same weekend, running from Friday evening through Sunday. And Sept. 17 is the 5K City 2 City Run, ending up in Dardenne Prairie with the Prairie Days festival.

Speaking of Dardenne Prairie, I found myself there last week and wandered around the . We posted a Viewfinder with lots of pictures this morning at 6 a.m. It's truly amazing. Playgrounds have changed A LOT since I was a kid, looking more like modern art sculpture than the jungle gyms and teeter-totters of my youth.

Today in history, courtesy of History.com: In 1902 Fannie Farmer opened a cooking school in Boston. Farmer was very scientific and precise in her procedures and measurements. The Fannie Farmer Cookbook is still in print today.
