The air was crisp and clean this morning, and I had to reflect on how perfect that was for the start of high school football season.

You may have noticed that we've been a bit sports-heavy the last few days: We brought you the , the , and a .

I hope every high school student takes the time to be somehow involved with sports, whether it's playing in the sport, marching in the band, joining the cheer or pep squad or just attending the games and cheering from the stands. For me, and for a lot of people, that involvement created some of our best, and most cherished memories of high school.

 

Today in history, courtesy of History.com: Following our sports theme today, on this day in history in 1939, the very first Major League baseball game was broadcast on television. The Cincinnati Reds played against the Brooklyn Dodgers and though only two cameras covered the games, the new idea to televise baseball was a—pardon the pun—hit.
