The Second Cup: August 30 Edition

You've had your first cup of coffee; now relax with the second and find out what's up for the day in Lake Saint Louis.

Good morning, Lake Saint Louis!

We're glad to welcome back our garden columnist Peggy Bahrmasel today. I had to smile while I was posting —she sounds positively giddy, and I'm so happy that she had such a wonderful vacation. She also brought us back some great pictures of some gorgeous East Coast homes.

Peggy does make you think about color and its power to affect our moods and emotions. My daughter recently moved to San Francisco, and I think one of the things she is happiest about is not having to be in Missouri in November. She thoroughly dislikes the bare branches and drab brown and gray scenery.

Last night I was at the Ward 1 meeting at city hall, and Ralph Sidebottom shared a lot of good information. I'll have a report later today.

I was reminded at the meeting that today the Neighborhood Assistance Preservation Program (NAPP) will be working at a house on Pyrenees Drive. If you're handy with a hammer or paintbrush, give Joe Snell, the chairman, a call at 636-561-3023 and offer your help!

Today we'll also be posting Joe Scott's report from the County Council meeting, so check back.
