Today in History, courtesy of History.com: In 1969, Actress Sharon Tate was murdered. The pregnant wife of producer Roman Polanski was not targeted, but happened to be at the home where cult leader Charles Manson sent a band of his followers to begin a killing spree. Manson would be convicted of the Tate murder, among many others.
