The Second Cup: September 29 Edition

You've had your first cup of coffee; now relax with the second and find out what's up for the day in Lake Saint Louis.

Good morning, Lake Saint Louis!

Things got away from me yesterday, so I posted the "Paws in the Park" gallery this morning at 6 a.m. If you see anyone, human or canine, that you recognize, please let me know!

Please check out our Announcements section today. (It's at the bottom of the menu on the news tab.) We've got an announcement from a resident who is helping to feed several stray cats in her neighborhood, and she'd really like to see them find homes—but more importantly, she'd like them to be reunited with their owners if the owners are still in the area.

There's another announcement about another "found" item that may be of sentimental value to a Lake Saint Louis resident or a friend or family member.

We also have some coverage of Holt soccer today, and our usual Get Out column with suggestions for some great entertainment for the weekend.

I'll be in court this morning at 9 a.m. for the sentencing hearing for Corey Brown. I'll have that posted just as soon as I know.

Today in history, courtesy of History.com: In 1982, the first of six people died in the Chicago area because of Tylenol capsules that had been poisoned with cyanide. Although the culprit was never caught, the tragedy led to better, tamper-proof packaging.
