American Idol auditions came to St. Louis, and Lake Saint Louis resident Vicki Trost was quoted in a article by the St. Louis Business Journal. Trost didn't make the cut, but she enjoyed the experience.

The Suburban Journals posted an article on July 1 about a protest at the Lake Saint Louis Petland store. On Father's Day, protesters with signs picketed the store, at the Shoppes of Hawk Ridge, saying that the store sold puppies from puppy mills.
