Timberland Alumnus, Now USAF Airman, Producing Music Album

David Butler, 24, composes and performs music while serving in the U.S. Air Force.

David Butler, a graduate of and now an Airman in the U.S. Air Force stationed in Altus, Okla., is two weeks from producing his first music album.

Butler, 24, plays guitar and piano and sings, and he also arranges music for strings and percussion.

"I compose, write and perform all of my own music," Butler said on a fundraising website called Gofundme.com, where he is trying to raise money for an engineer to mix and master the album and produced a finished product for iTunes distribution.

An Air Force friend of Butler, Staff Sgt. Heidi Davis, wrote to Wentzville Patch about Butler and his talents.

"He is a great role model for the students of Timberland as he gave six years of service to us country all the while pursuing his dream of singing and songwriting," Davis said. "I was deployed with David in 2009 and heard his music. He's incredible and I fully support him."

Davis said she hoped that Butler's hometown would support him in his dreams, asking local businesses and students, staff and teachers at Timberland to check out the attached video and consider donating to his efforts.
