Veterans Day in Lake Saint Louis
Lake Saint Louis' memorial ceremony was held Monday, Nov. 12.
Despite blustery winds Monday, a crowd gathered at Lake Saint Louis' Veterans Memorial Park to honor the men and women who have given their service to our county's armed forces.
The program featured the VFW Post 10350 Color Guard, The Men's Ensemble from the First Baptist Church and guest speaker General Rob Carrothers. Don Smedshammer served as Master of Ceremonies.
In a touching "Ring of Honor" ceremony, members of AFROTC Detachment 207 stood at attention at each of the pedestals commemorating conflicts from the Revolutionary War to the current Afghanistan conflict while veterans from each era—as well as veterans who served in peacetime—were honored.
